A Selection of 2011 Christmas Cards

When I make Christmas cards each year I sit down with all my Christmas themed supplies and just play.  Sometimes I love the results, sometimes not quite as much, but it's a lot of fun for me.  Rarely are there ever two cards exactly alike as I rarely have duplicates of embellishments.  I made about 70 cards this year.  Here are a few of the ones I liked best:

Bloom - Spring 2009

I love these pictures of my daughter!  They were taken in our back yard on a warm sprind afternoon.  Doesn't she look cute?  The purple shiny background is actually fabric.  It is from a Chinese dress my daughter outgrew years ago.  The front of the dress was too snagged for anyone to really wear, but the fabric was so pretty I stuck it away in my scrapping drawer. I'm so glad I did! It worked out great with this layout!

With a Little Help from My Friends!

Here are a fewof the cards I put together last week.  These are all embellished with items I received from my online scrapping friends as PIFs or in swaps.  I love how they turned out - and having such fancy handmade items all ready to go is such a timesaver!

Here are two layouts I recently put together from the summer of 2009. Yes, it seems I continue to get further & further behind in my scrapping :) Oh well - leaving plenty to do during my retirement!

A few more random cards

I always get behind on loading my "kreations" to my blog. So here are a few more cards that I put together in the last month or so that I'm finally getting around to sharing.

New Technique - Gamsol & Colored Pencils

I tried out a new technique, and while not perfect, it worked out better than I thought I'd be able to do.  While I was in Chicago recently visiting family, I visited an Archiver's store for the first time.  A woman at the store demostated how to use gamsol to blend colored pencils.  This is my second attempts - I call it the "Jungle Love" card :)
