Fun with Chevron

I've been working on getting my Christmas cards done for this year.  I bought a fantastic kit from Jillibean Soup - I think I'll have to get another in the future! I love the great cards that the kit includes instructions for and there are plenty of supplies left to make more cards. These cards were made from some of the extra papers.
Friends that Scrap yahoo group is hosting a weekly card sketch challenge.  This week's sketch featured the popular chevron pattern.  I knew I'd seen some "how to" information on the web somewhere, so this was a perfect opportunity to try it out!  I found a fantastic tutorial that walked me simply through the process. 
So here are the two cards I've created so far with the chevron I made.  I put together a bit more of the chevron so that I can make a few more of these cards.  I like the technique - what do you think?

Basic Grey Sweet Threads Cards

These are some cards I put together with a kit from Basic Grey. The kit is set up a little different than the other card kits - this one has papers and embellishments from the regular product line and instructions for cutting and assembling.  There were extra supplies left so I was able to put together even more cards than the instructions indicated.  Fun!

Fun with Washi Tapes

I saw a card made with ribbons in a book I recently read. I loved the idea, but I was really afraid that the ribbons would be hard to cut and might fray.  And then I rememberd the piles of cute tapes I had been collecting and hadn't figured out how to use yet.  The result? Lots of fun cards! I think I'm addicted to making these!

 

 

Isn't the little owl cute? One of my scrapping friends from Friends that Scrap yahoo group made several for me as a PIF. 

 

Here are a couple more cards made with tapes, but these don't have the same pinwheel pattern.
